Sawgrass Lake Elementary Teacher Testimony About Corey Thornton Motivational Concert!Kathleen Chambers
Thank you so much for everything you do for kids! "Today Corey Thornton
brought his Knuckle Headz anti-bullying hip hop show
to our school. He chose 20-30 students from the audience to go on stage and dance. Four of my autistic boys
wanted to go up, so we sent them. One of them stood off to the side wearing his headphones, occasionally smiling and clapping.
Two of my kindergarteners jumped up & down and boogied their little hearts out. The fourth child almost made me cry. He's one of my third graders and he loves music but usually stops dancing/singing when people look at him. He also rarely asks for anything other than the ipad. He danced, clapped and leaped all over the stage with not a care in the world except for enjoying himself. When Corey Thornton was picking the next group of kids, this same student gestured toward the stage and said "go go dance" and I told him to go dance.
He asked for something!!!! He danced right up by Corey Thornton, who was awesome and didn't mind at all. I was told by several other teachers that I looked like such a proud momma lol. I have never seen this particular child look so comfortable and full of joy. It was a beautiful sight, the best thing to happen all school year."
Corey Thornton's mission is to inspire, motivate and educate our rapidly growing numbers of at risk youth.
